Magnetic Nanoparticles (MPs)

Method:

Magnetic nanoparticles (MPs) were prepared through a controlled solvothermal synthesis using iron precursors and polymer stabilizers, yielding uniform, well-dispersed Fe₃O₄-based microspheres suitable for subsequent functionalization and composite formation.

Results:

The synthesized magnetic particles (MPs) exhibited good dispersibility after sequential ethanol and water washing, with an average particle size of 613.2 nm (PI = 0.2447) and a zeta potential of −27.66 mV when stored in PBS, suggesting slight aggregation likely due to the near-neutral pH (7.31) being close to the particles’ isoelectric point; further optimization of storage pH is planned to improve colloidal stability.
